Congress Organisation

EABCT member associations will be involved in contributing to the organisation of the Congress and CBT associations around the world will be supporting and promoting  participation in the Congress program.

The organisation of WCBCT Berlin 2019 will be similar both operationally and scientifically to the arrangements we put in place for both Barcelona 2007 and Marrakech 2013 with EABCT co-coordinating all arrangements.

The Board of EABCT has appointed Andreas Veith and Rod Holland as the Congress Oranisers, both of whom have a wealth of experience in organizing successful Congresses.

EABCT have appointed a professional congress organizing company who will provide the full range of support services that the organisation of a large Congress will require.

Scientific Programme Organisation

Europe has a large number of internationally known and respected research and clinical specialists in cognitive and behaviour therapy. We have experts in all fields of CBT from children to older adults. For example, as well as earlier groundbreaking work in anxiety disorders, Europe has led the world in its development of CBT for psychosis including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Research and clinical teaching centres in Europe continue to push CBT knowledge and skills increasingly into the mainstream of psychotherapeutic practice.

The Board of EABCT has appointed Philip Tata and Thomas Heidenreich as Scientific Programme co-chairs. Their aim is to achieve a balanced international representation of speakers and presentation modalities that will ensure a broad and stimulating scientific programme.
